1992 4Runner 1UZFE swap, 3 link rear and top cut off

I am posting up a swap and solid axle swap I did a few years back and had to put on the back burner for a minute I didnt document all of it in too much detail but I simplified alot of it to make it an easier to read thread.

I will be posting up 3 customers current swaps (1992 Toyota 4wd 4runner, 1993 Toyota 2wd 4runner and a 1994 2wd shortbed) as well just in different threads. this swap.... is well a no brainer and stupid simple. used 3vze- 1000 to 3000 for a junk rebuild. lexus 1UZFE 250.bucks all day long. just do your homework when shopping around.

I will post up a wire harness tip that makes it a little more easy to do as well.

here is a pic of the 4runner (site wouldnt let me load a larger pic?!)

ahh yeah photobucket, that will work.

St.louis Mo.

I produce engine mounts for 3VZE and 22R that make this a bolt in swap hence the stupid simple remark. when I say stupid simple I am refering to this being just like as if you were replacing the 6 or 4 cylinder.
other than power steering, trnny and gas lines being custom (easy to measure and make or have made) their are a couple tranfer case adapters made to bolt up the Tcase (inchworm, T100)

the radiator is a custom 1 but the factory fan can be used, I am not a big fan of modifiying the core support so other than a small amount of trimming to the sides thats about it.

I have cut the top off(4door) and am currently building a rollcage, 3 linked the rear as well.
I will post up some of what I did to get it where its at today

Off Roadster

here are the new doors for the convertible.... or should I say roadster (no top ever makes it a roadster not a convertible)

hence the name Off Roadster

btw door weight with windows and electrics 55 lbs (passenger n driver doors) after removing glass and window motors the weight was cut in half down to 27 pounds per door add that to the back window glass, sunroof and 2 back side windows along with the weight of the entire metal top and thats some crazy weight savings.

the roll cage will bring some of that weight back though
