1989 Toyota pickup 2jz single turbo swap
Hi everyone I am a owner of a 1989 2wd 2jz GTK single turbo truck. I will not say too much more about the truck and just let all the pics speak for themself.
Truck at the begining. 2jz sitting next to it lol.
Motor in it.
hood closed no rubbing
first exhaust set up
Current set up
Had bad twins so it got the single treatment. This is a crapy ebay turbo btw.

Blew up 3 of this auto trans lol
R154 trans this should not break like all the autos did lol
Old turbo went bad and had a crack in the turbo manifold so got some new goodies
Old and new turbo..... little bit of a difference lol
Old turbo you can see how it was scraching the hell out of the housing cuz there was too much shaft play. EBAY SUCKS!
Manifold on..
All done!
New fuel system waiting to go in it this is my next project lol
exterior shots with some slicks on it. Running RX8 rims all the way around.
Got some videos of it up as well on youtube feel free to check them out. Just search 892jz and you will get all the videos!!!!!!!!!!!!!

A 1jz bellhousings was used. And sorry for no replies. I had this set to let me know when anyone posted on it but today is the first time i got an email. Now I would like to tell you all that at the point of the new turbo is when I took ownership of the truck. Everything b4 that was done by a friend.
The truck has been down due to an idle issue but think we have it fixed and have also upgraded the fuel system with new high flow fuel rail, 900cc injectors, all new 6an fuel lines, 2 walbro 255lph fuel pumps, and lastly a 16 gal fuel cell. Will post all the pics up tomorrow.

Fuel lines almost there. Getting flared today for the AN fittings then just need to run the braided lines to the rail and test it out.

Sorry for not really keeping you guys posted here. Just got the engine harness back and will be working on it this next weekend.
On a side note thinking of doing a prerunner set up..... What are your imputes on that?
