Swap 94 3.0 auto to a 3.4 Manual

Hi Guys,

I have been soaking in all the 3.4 swap stuff the last week. I bought a nice clean 123K mile 94 4runner Auto 4x4. Looks like it has the A340H trans and the 4.88 gears. The engine block is shot with a bad cylinder #4 broken rings, grooved and already .40 over.

Looking at re-manufactured 3.0 engines being from $1,700 to $2,500 So looking at doing the 3.4 swap. Like the increase in power and all the other advantages it seems to bring.

I am also considering doing a 5 speed swap at the same time. If I do the 5 speed swap do I use the 94-95 5speed or get a 5 speed donor rig with the 3.4 and use all of the parts for the swap. I understand if I keep the automatic a ecu from a T-100 is needed.

Looks like of great articles on the wiring. Probably do it like a aircraft wiring harness and make a board to wire it up on. Full size schematic per say.

Thanks for the valuable resource.

Phil

Pretty sure 3.4 transmission is a drivers side drop while the 3.0 is a passenger side drop except for the t-100. I would think the 2nd gen stuff would be an easier fit but I'm no expert.
