ORS 3.4 swap instructions
Mike has now posted his 3.4 swap instructions on his old website:
http://www.offroadsolutions.com/tech.html#engine
These were previously only available to people who purchased his full conversion kit. I guess now that he is "out of business" he is sharing them with everyone. Mike is a good guy!

NIce of him to post them up. He is a good guy. Some of those instructions need help though. I wonder if he would mind if I rewrote them.
I'm taking technical writing at the local college and it would be good practice.

Yeah writing instructions is harder than it looks. I had to do it once at work, it makes sense to you because you know how to do it, but the reader doesn't understand.
I must have called Mike about 200 times getting clairification on the instructions. He made them better after I was finished, lots more pics.

Mike is a VERY class act. It's damn shame that he's not in business, anymore. A lot of folks are not going to even realize what they'll miss by not having his "one stop shop" to count on!
He sure made my life easier when I did my swap!
Best of luck to your future endeavours, Mike!

I noticed Mike now recommends ceramic coating the cross-over, he was recommending a header wrap before. My header wrap didn't work out very good and I'm trying a ceramic coating now.
These crossover pipes are built from mild steel, therefore we highly recommend ceramic-coating before installation to prevent rust and aid in heat reduction

BTW... If you need anything that ORS used to sell, email me directly. I will forward the email to Brian a friend of Mike's from ORS, who might still be a sales channel for stuff they might have. They at least will still do wiring harnesses!

I am not sure when they will be up for sale. When I know more info I will post it. As of now they are not doing it, but the rumor is they plan to still do harnesses....

What people need to understand is that w/ the 2RZ, 3RZ, and 5VZ, Toyota had A LOT of different vendors making the harnesses. Add that to the different year models, updates, versions. Then you've got THOUSANDS of combination possibilities. Giving Mike the serial # off your ECM & harness, then your year model... that's when the real research begins. Sure, you're not getting much actual wiring. What you're paying for is the knowledge and the simplification of the wiring. If you're a wiring moron like me, then you'll gladly pay someone $600 for their time. And yeah, Mike is a class act. I'm supposed to call him when I get my 85' 4Runner w/ my 96' 3RZ up and running. Everytime I'm just about to get it running, something goes wrong . Hopefully I'll have it running saturday.
