Since there seems to be a lot of confusion, I will try and smooth it all out with some part numbers and information.

Feel free to correct me if you see any mistakes

1. If you are swapping a 3.4 into any 86-95 4WD IFS application (4cyl or V6), you need oil pan part number 12101-65012 (88-95 V6 4WD pan)
   
2. If you are swapping a 3.4 into any 90-95 2WD 4Runner, you need oil pan part number 12101-65012 (88-95 V6 4WD pan).
   
3. If you are swapping a 3.4 into any 84-95 2WD Pickup, you need oil pan part number 12101-65021 (88-95 2WD V6 pickup pan)
   
4. If you are swapping a 3.4 into any Solid axle vehicle, whether SFA or SAS, you need oil pan part number 12101-65030 (Rear sump 2WD T100 oil pan)
   

OIL PICKUP TUBES:
If you use 12101-65030 (Rear sump 2WD T100 oil pan)
You will need 15104-62060 Pickup tube

If you use 12101-65012 (88-95 V6 4WD pan)
You will need 15104-62070 Pickup tube

Oil pickup tube gasket 15147-62020

Also, I have come to see that most applications will use the following number for dipstick parts:

Dipstick - Toyota 15301-62060
Dipstick Guide - Toyota 11452-62060
Dipstick Guide O-Ring - 96721-19010
Union - Toyota 90405-10033

Some members here listed the union as 0405-10033 which is WRONG. Toyota does not use a 9 digit part number. If anyone sees any thread with that number listed, PM me so I can change it.

We used the oil pan and stuff off the 3.0 on the 95 4Runner SAS and 3.4 swap. Cleared fine.

Is there a difference in it and the 2WD pan?

2WD and 4WD 4Runner oil pans are the exact same.

2WD truck pans use a mid sump, but its not shaped to clear the diff. 2WD truck pans and 2wd 4Runner pans are different.

The T100 2WD pan is a rear sump pan. Depending on your variation of SAS, you may or may not be able to use a 3.0 4WD pan. However, if your axle isn't forward at all, it will hit the pan on uptravel.

Tried to mount up my engine this weekend, using the 96 4Runner 3.4L oil pan.

It WILL NOT work. The sump hits the crossover steering setup. On my truck I will have to use the T100 2WD oil pan. I cannot use the 3.0 oil pan.

You can get that from Toyota as well, but any auto parts store carries a selection of O-rings.

So I'm guessing any year T100 will work, as long as it's from a 2wd? I've been shopping around car-part.com (national junkyard parts site) and searched 97+ T100s; prices range from $45 to $100+ with no reason for the price gap.

For those for are wondering, the part number for the dipstick oring is 96721-19010. I cant find my caliper or else I would say what the id and od are. It was two dollars and change from the dealer.

And wakk: Price differences from yards usually depend on quality, and service. Lower the price, crappier the service/quality.

Any year 1993-1998 will work, but it MUST be 2WD (assming you have a SFA)

Swapping a 1998 T100 into a 1991 4runner, I believe I will have to swap the pan from the 3.0 onto the T100 motor, but I'm wondering if I can use the oil pick up from the 3.0 motor? or will have I have to pick up a different oil pick up to work with the 3.0 oil pan?

You need to use the pickup from the 3.4 T100, which matches the baffle in the 3.4 engine

Thanks, it looks like I'll either have to grab a pickup tube from the dealer, or find a junkyward willing to part with one.

Why would you use the T100 pickup with the 3.0 oil pan. They are different sumps and wouldn't than cause the motor to not get enough oil.

Its seems that if you are using the 3.0 pan, you would want to use the 3.0 pickup, dipstick tube and dipstick. You can use either baffle....just trim out the 3.4 one. That's what I did at least for my IFS setup.

I had to trim one of the support legs off the 3.0 pickup to get it to work in the 3.4 motor/3.0 pan combo...any reason why this shouldn't work?

i used 3inch hd springs on my sas and did 3.4 swap with 3.0 pan. Works great. just a FYI. was a 4wd 3.0 pan

Yeah, the pan I'm using is off of my 3.0, I'm running the stock IFS and it should fit alright. My worry is that in order to make the oil pickup from the 3.0 fit (compatible with the 3.0 oil pan) that I had to use washers to bolt the remaining support leg to the pan under the crank/rod assembly. I'm getting nervous, and looking at opening it back up and welding the washers to the leg...don't want a $9 gasket mistake to become a $900 failure mistake later...
