Hello all... I did a search and could not find my answer. I just finished my service and the only 2 things i did not do are... 1. "retorque propeller shaft" 2. Re-torque drive shaft flange bolts. Anyone know what they are torqued to and where these bolts are!? Thanks guys!!!

there are 4 bolts in each end of the drive shaft.tighten them as tight as you can get them and tighten them some more!Mine come loose regular!

you're kidding right? There has to be a reason they say "torque"... just like you can damage ur rotors by over torquing the lug nuts! Anyone know the specs to the bolts?

it's 54 ft. lbs on 4x4's &/or 56 ft. lbs. on the 3VZ-E engined drive shafts.

I am assuming you are talking about the torque specs on your '99 Runner so here goes.

Prop shaft at 54 ft.lbs.
Flange bolts at 54 ft. lbs.

This is according to Alldata.com so if it's wrong I assume no responsiblity. I personally think the Propshaft bold is supposed to be more but at work I use whatever the specs says for liability reasons.

When I removed my driveshaft a while back, I was going to re-torque them back to spec. But, its was so darn difficult (if not impossible) to get a torque wrench on the bolts, I just gave up and tightened them the old fashioned way.

Hah, torque. That's funny. Every tech including me in the Toyota shop I work at uses the 1/2" impact until it stops spinning torque setting.

hehe I dunno if thats a good thing for its life span... Sure hope my dealer didnt do that!
