New area (Engine swaps)

It has probably been brought up in the past, but YotaTech member "thefallman" Brian had a suggestion for an engine swap section since there is at least one going on at any given time.

If it gets really busy we can break up the section by engine categories, but lets try this and see how it goes.

I agree.

If someone wants to scour the site and add all the URLs to the current swaps to this same thread here, I can move them into this section when I get a chance.

Thanks, still looking into sub forums, as we may need them with all the thread.
OK:
3.4 Swaps, V8 Swaps, Diesel Swaps, I4
Swaps and Other Swaps

Is I4 the Supra?

The above would cover all correct?

PS, the other sections will not happen until later tonight or Thanksgiving, I do not have the time at work to do it.

There seems to be an infinite amount of options for swaps. Ford, Buick, Chevy... endless list.

Maybe if sub topics are needed, you could have something like "Toyota Swaps", "Domestic Swaps", "Diesel Swaps"... etc. Less sub topics but still helping people search for info they are interested in.

Just throwing out ideas.

When i suggested the topics to corey i tried to group them according to the tech base needed for each swap. The problem you run into is that the there are several domestic diesel and toyota diesel swaps available. Then you have the V6 4.3L Chev people. The small block GM and Ford people, and the V8 toyota people,

I think i agree with evolta in a way about this though let me revise my suggested list of sub forums.

3.4 Swaps,
Domestic Swaps,
Diesel Swaps,
Other Toyota Swaps,

Later we may need such things as a UZ toyota V8 swap section and what not, But for now i think that, that is probably the best division since, the main swaps happening from what i can see are 3.4, then domestic V8 or V6, then Diesel.

edit. although if anyone wants UZ swap info there is more then enough at cebby's site

that's a really good idea. i think this will clean up the 86-95 section considerably, plus it may draw more attention to YT through google searches and whatnot.

i like it! it would be a great help to have all these threads grouped together, especially when someone is considering a swap or mid-stream in a swap and needs some tech assist.

categorizing them by make is a good idea, too.

Sections are up, and this sub forum here could be left intact for general BS'ing about swaps or it could go away and get absorbed into the others.

Also here is a screenshot of the current setup.
The category bar (Engine Swap Talk) could be left in the Off Road/fab section here, or it could have its own category below the Off Road title bar.

Thoughts?

may need to upsize that pic its so tiny when I look at it maybe its my puter but it seems the right idea. I like the way it breaks up the motors and swaps easy to find the 3.4 vs. the chevy v8 and ford vs. diesal good start love to see it done before I do my S/C 3.4 swap.

i think you should leave it where it is...good placement...easy to find. i would also leave up the general "engine swaps" area for general bs and motor swap related info. looks good corey.

Thanks, but thank Brian too.

Just moved the other ones from Elvota's post above.
Forgot all about them until now.

Running around here cleaning my home and doing other chores before the holiday.

Corey i tried to weed out the ones that didnt have any useful info kinda hard sometimes though cause alot of times somebody will have a new question that brings up some good issues so anyway heres a list of the threads i found that i think should be moved into our new section. All of them deal directly with swaps.

This needs to be moved to Other toyota swaps area

https://www.yotatech.com/forums/f158...0-ypta-130573/

and we need a sticky about posting specific swap questions in specific swap areas same with specific swap info. general questions about swaps and the merits of one swap verses another should be the only thing in this area. It will keep it alot cleaner and is the reason for those sub-forums creation

You will have to make a new thread with your question, as this thread is only to announce the new engine swap sections here at YotaTech.
