Hacking begins!

First two are of the engine brackets and steering stabilizer brackets being removed. Last two are of the mod for moving the radiator forward two inches.

W56

The stock W56. Triple the power of a stock 22RE should be nice.

Yes. I am actually a helicopter pilot instructor. I always wonder how many people realize that picture is the Top Gear truck. I love those two episodes. As you can see in my signature I have the 1KZ-te deisel swapped into my 4runner. I imagine that if toyota thought it prudent to use the R series transmission behind 250 ft lbs of torque that you might be better off using an R series behind an engine making over 300 ft.lbs. You could always run it behind the W series until it blows up then change it.

Cool!

My best friend is a pilot in the 160th here in Fort Campbell. Alot of people are running the W56 behind Ford and Chevy V8's with no problems. Plus a bunch of people in Australia and New Zealand run these with the W56 with no problems. Should be good.

Nice work! Sorry if I missed this somewhere, but what year 1UZ are you using? I have a '96 1UZ sitting in my shed waiting to go into something. Possibly my '77 Celica

Hey.

It's a 1992. If you need any help let me know. I have gathered a lot over the years of research. As soon as I get more money I will be progressing.

It seems that very few people use the 96-97 generation 1uz. Not really sure why. I'm hoping I can fool the computer enough to keep it from rev limiting at 3k. If not I'll probably put my megasquirt on it.

Connecting rods are bigger.

The earlier models are much stronger.

As for the 2500rpm limit. Thats due to too many people not connecting the neutral safety wires when they swap to manual. Also due to lack of speed input to the automatic when it is used.

I'll be following this. Nice intro listing all the swap parts! Remember to add the small stuff we all miss once you get it done.

Don't worry I will.

I am even going to list the hose numbers and the A/C belt delete part number. Right now it is down for the count. Lack of the all mighty dollar.

OK got side tracked by another 1UZ swap!

Our shop is doing another swap! It's in a 91! ECU turned out to be fried so we are using a Megasquirt MS3 with MSX! One good thing that came out of it that I made a set of bolt in engine mounts! Will be continuing with mine next week!
