i used the motor mount brackets for my swap from advance adapters. and i got a chevy 700r4 with toyota t-case. i hear the mounts from northwestoffroad.com work better and sit lower than the ones from advance adapters and just all around better because the mounts from advance adapters you have to use the chevy motor mounts.

The 2" body lift makes it look like its sitting lower.Im in the process of doing a 95 4.3 mpi in my 87 truck thats getting sas'd now. Im waiting to finish the sas before i start the swap. Im staying fuel injected and keeping the engine stock as possible. I have a advance adapters bellhousing and fj40 slave with a centerforce clutch and flywheel also from advanced. I bought this 95 jimmy as my donor which i drove home so that way im the one doing the dismantling not some wire choppin fool.
heres the sas. Should have plenty of clearance for the vortec!

I have a 4.3 in an 88 as well. What cooling system are you guys running. The temps outside are 80 f and I can't keep it below 205. It has the clutch fan from a 3vze and a custom 4 core aluminum rad.no shroud, headers.
Tomorrow I'm going yo pull the thermostat and check it. I'm going to wrap the headers on the weekend unless I have time tomorrow as well.
Let me know what you guys did please.

Im in the process of putting a 98 4.3/4l60e in my 90 4runner with no body lift. I just finished up mounting the drivetrain yesterday. I have my back and low. The trans pan hangs below the frame some, but the only way to go any higher would be a body lift. I have just a little room around the tcase and the trans is maybe 1/8" from the trans tunnel in one spot (near where the gas pedal is).

kobe king- i used a 700 r4 transmission with a advance adapter for the toyota t-case. with a lokar shifter with custom internal work to lock up on its own. but i plan on swapping it out with a new monster transmission 700r4 tranny.

kobe king. honestly if i was to go back to redo it i would have kept my toyota 5 speed tranny and got the bell housing adapter for it and be done with it without mods. but dont get me wrong the 700r4 is great to have.
