22r engine swap wiring
I am building a custom buggy, and have a 22r engine and a Manual transmission to go in it. I want it to be the simplest wiring i can have, no gauges or anything else just to start and run. I want push button start and a toggle switch to turn the ignition on and off, I have no idea how to do it, i don't know wiring at all and the only wiring diagram i could find is VERY complicated. I am a newbie and all help is very helpfull
Thanks Austin

Simple DIY harness to run
Actually, it's much simpler than that. Mount your driveline, positive battery to starter solenoid, negative battery to engine block and to frame.
Make another positive battery lead (10 gage or so) run from batt or solenoid B+ to your push-button then to the toggle switch.
From the toggle switch, run normal harness wire to the white or red wire on the igniter/coil (didn't say what year yer workin on) - the black wire will run a tach, if you want to later. You may want to add a connection from this to your choke and fuel solenoid, if equipped.
From the push button, run a fairly heavy gage wire to the spade terminal on the starter (just under the main B+ cable)
Flip the switch on and push the button, if you have gas in the carb it should run. I would invest (at least) in an aftermarket gauge trio to monitor temp, oil and amps.
