Same specs as the one I have, and they did a nice feature, the gauge is down by the inflater end where it should be.

I am not a fan of chrome though, but you know that someone will eventually say it
This would be a case where "chrome does get you home" if you had to air back up with that one.

I have one of these compressors hardmounted under my hood and connected with a genuine Viair 110/150 pressure switch and a 2.5 gal tank. It is a good backup to the Powertank, but it sure takes a while to air up my 37" MTR's! It took about 35-45 minutes to air my tires from 15-35psi (I was filling the tank to make it a little quicker but I am seriously considering adding another 2.5gal tank). Luckily it still will shut off still when it overheats.

Costco price was $39 a couple days ago.

Price drops usually happen just before they discontinue an item

Mine crapped out on the way out of Crown King 3 weekends ago. Motor still ran, no airflow or pressure. I think the compressor valve (?) might be kaput. This is the second one I've had go south... ho hum. I hope Costco will exchange it if they still have them. Or take it back if they don't.

Don't get stuff shipped to canada, use one of the shipping depots across the border. I use Package Express in Sumas,

http://www.packageexpress.com/

Just register with them and get stuff shipped there. Saves on shipping costs and UPS/FedEx ripoffs. It's not far to drive down and get it, through Mission and Addy. If the borders busy and you have a small package you can even walk over. I've never had problems bringing stuff back, just declare it and show them the invoice. If it's made in North America all you pay is GST/PST, which you'd pay here anyway. If they don't ask where the product was made I don't volunteer the info. The only time I've had to pay any duty is with my tires, which were made in Japan.

after reading this post I have the on board air bug. I was looking at harbor freight and found this http://www.harborfreight.com/cpi/cta...emnumber=93186
has anybody used this compressor? I would get the MV50 but theres a harbor freight a few miles away so I thought I'd give it a shot.

The CFM is nearly half that of the MV50/MF-1050. I just bought an MF1050 from Amazon, $59 shipped.

If it lasts for 6 months I'll be happy.

I e-mailed that guy, but I have some serious doubts about his legitimacy. Here was his email to me:

"Dear: Mr. xxxxxxxxxxxx
YES!! This is the correct price of $5.00 + $9.99 shipping and handling. This is one of our most popular item. If you are still interested in buying, please do. Thier will be some delays in getting your order to your home due to the large demand for this item. Please definitely to order this item."

The guy has no feedback, and his letter reeks of Nigerian fraud emails.

Granted, anything in the Amazon Marketplace is backed up by Amazon, but I don't want the hassle.

Let us know if you get them, though, I could just be too suspicious

I figured I could use the Amazon guarantee as a backup if I didn't get the items, it may be a hassle, but if it works, it will be a huge savings (even though I'm expecting a too good to be true outcome)

Took it apart - inlet valve FUBAR - piston smacked it. Made a new one from a piece of feeler gauge, cleaned up the piston & sleeve. Works like new. I modified mine slightly so it can permanently sit inside a 50mm ammo can.

What kind of modification did you have to do to it? That sounds like a great idea, I guess you would just need to either drill some ventilation holes, or open to top to use it.

Although... you could cut out the side or bottom, put in a pair of 12vdc computer fans to get the air flowing, and just wire it into the compressor circuitry so that they come on when the compressor is on... hm. Then you could cut a hole in the can to mount the outlet, power switch, and extend the air filter/inlet to the side/top as well, and would have a bomb-proof compressor you could literally throw around.

lol - you're overthinking it! Just pop the lid off the can and you're good to go. You gotta get the wires/hose out of the can anyway.

All I did was clock the compressor head 90 degrees so the hose QD is facing the handle. Then I made a permanent air filter that is small enough to fit in the can. Lastly I plumbed the gauge with a long "L" to get it near the handle as well.

Yup, I bit on it too. As they say, if it's too good to be true, it probably is. I ordered mine on June 2 (thats WHEN I think it was first listed). Anyways, the 5 day window came and went of when it was supposed to be delivered and after 2 days of emailing those tards I finally got this:

Due to technical difficulties we had to cancel the order because their was no inventory. AMAZON will issue the credit back to your credit card account. We applogize for the inconvience.

DLF Explorers
5460 Delmar Blvd
St. Louis, Mo 63112
(314)-791-1273
10 days later, they now tell me it never shipped/cancelled the order.

I ordered mine on June 2nd and never got anything, you ordered yesterday, if you get yours I'm gonna be pissed! At least it was only a $14.99 gamble, and I see he doesn't have it listed anymore.

By the way, since I still need one, I could never make up my mine if I want the 1050 that plugs into the cig lighter or the one that clamps to the battery (MV50). Suggestions? They are only about $10 difference on Amazon.

Mine said it shipped yesterday (5 hours after I ordered), so i think i'll run into the same situation with getting a refund. Just won an ebay auction for one for $43 shipped, so at least i'll have 1 as a backup

Mine is popping fuses now. I guess if I can't fix it I will man up and get a real compressor.
