I know his is bigger then the regular base but this new one fits 2 4x4s between the "feet" Which is at least 7".
I have been considering asking wabbit if he can make one without the gripper feet or leave them before they bend them over so I'd be able to use the base in my driveway or on rock as well.

I have a piece of 12"x12"x1.5" of engineered plywood (specifically I think this piece was leftovers from an engineered beam) that has the shape of the normal hi-lift base routed out about a quarter inch deep into one of the sides. One of the members of SONTT is a carpenter made them for the club. It works really well for increasing the size of the footprint as well as stability on gravel, soft ground or even slightly unlevel hard ground (like the floor of my shop, which is 6 separate slabs that have cracked over the years into hundreds of chunks and now nothing is flat.). I suppose I could even bolt it on to the existing base if I wanted to for extra stability, but it doesn't try to kick out when on the wider base.
