Flex coming soon......I still have some things to do. I need to get an extended brake line for the rear, change fluids in the transfer cases, modify the front shock hoops and bolt up the front drive shaft. I did finish the rear shock set up and get the rock sliders on but I need to finish painting them. I'll post pics by the weekend.

Home brew rear shock hoop

Ended up with more angle than I wanted (about 39-41*)
I'll get some pics of the rock sliders as soon as I get them painted.

No real action shots yet but some poser flex.....I don't have anything around here to max it out but there is about 2 1/2" of up travel and about 6" of down travel left.

I also got the sliders done over the weekend.

I cant tell you how many SA's I've seen with round u bolts under there. Looks like a death trap.

I actually prefer the round u-bolts on the front axle, both sides. I have seen too many of the square u-bolts snap under the front axle. And guess where they snap? Right at the square bend, that point is highly stressed and it'll let go.

What I do with the round bolts is to grind a slight groove into the leading and trailing corner of the axle gusset to hold the bolt in place and give it a more rounded place to sit. Works fine for me and have not had a single round u-bolt fail on my truck and I've been running the same set up front for about 12 years now (since I had a square one from AllPro fail on me):

HUH. Thanks for the info 4Crawler! I might have to do that (grind grooves in the lower gusset) with my axle that I have sitting in my garage.

Doesn't take a lot of grinding either, this is before:

And after:

I think it took 2 tries to get the grooves ground right, first time just ground a little where there were marks left from the u-bolts on the gusset. Then after a year or so, pulled them off and re-ground the grooves where you could again see the marks where the u-bolts sat in the grooves.

And that string hanging down has a magnet on the end to tip traffic light sensors which I have trouble with around town.

Just a stock pack for now until I give it a shake down. I would like to get a feel for the pack before I just start adding random leafs. I assume I will need to add a leaf or two at some point. From what I can tell so far I have no clearance issues, but I'm not sure the stock pack will be stiff enough.

That is a pretty good idea. Now that you say it, I could see how the square bend could be a weak point. Thanks for the advice.

Thanks man, I like the height myself. It turnned out exactly how I wanted it.....Low. I'll let ya know how it does on the trail as soon as I can. I'm hoping to get it out on the 6th at a local OHV park. I'll post pics later.

Thanks guys, It rained from friday night through saturday and did'nt stop til about 4 in the a.m. sunday. I did'nt care for mud before and now I hate it. It was a childrens cancer run and I had not taken my truck out with the new mods yet, so I went anyway. At least the money went to a good cause and there were a lot of trucks, 4wheelers, buggys, side by sides, etc.

couple of pics.....

and a little flex.....

I still did'nt max it out or lift a tire, but like I said it was muddy and not a lot to crawl around on in the mud.

That does look really good for a stock pack up front. Are you having any interference/binding with the hi steer or drive shaft?
