good buy on a 94 4x4 pickup?
hey all, new to the forum and thought that this would be a good place to ask this question. Today i went and looked at a 94 4x4 toyota pickup with the 22re engine that has 11,000 miles on the new engine, the truck has 110,000 original miles on it and is immaculate!!!! It has a 3in body lift, brand new 33x12.50 mud rovers with bullet hole wheels, 4.88 gears, was painted dark blue 4 months ago, interior is perfect and very clean (looks just like new). Im no expert on toyotas, but this thing looks awsome!!!! not one dent or scratch anywhere. he is asking $6000 and wont come off the price any!!!! my question is, is this a good buy? is the price to high? i really want it, but dont want to overpay. this truck would be my daily driver to college.

when ur buying any vehicle as a daily driver u wanna check for obvious things like, test drive to see if its alligned, brakes dont pull you one way or the other, is it leaking or smoking...etc.. etc... U dont know for sure if the motor has 11k on it so ask if he rags on it or babies it. From the info u gave tho sounds pretty nice IMO... you could also have come up on a nice rig lets see some pics yo

sounds like hes trying to get all of his money back from the work and add-ons hes done. which isnt how it works. if you want my two cents, keep looking theres always good deals out there on craigslist.

guys i drove this thing and checked for the obvious leaks. there are no leaks and it drives great. the frame has also been powdercoated. this is the nicest toyota i have ever seen. guess its to high of a price though. i may buy it anyways. lol

my biggest concern would be all the resto he has done. with the frame off thing maybe it took a huge hit or something. especially if you live outside of the rust belt. definately get a carfax, worth its weight in gold,
im not saying the truck isnt worth what he's asking. someone will buy it eventually. all used cars are priced high right now. only posted the book value in response to your question. if you know the value and want to spend 6k, why ask for any advise?

Engine replaced at 99k??? If taken care of, that thing will last WELL over 300k. Even most of the ones that get romped on last 150-180k or so. So something bad happened. Did he tell you what?

My $.02... I have a 94 Xtra cab with a 94 Vette LT1 and an SAS on 35's and I wouldn't take a penny less than $5000. It needs paint and has 170,000 miles, 30,000 on the engine. No, that's not even close to what I have in the truck but if someone wants it, they'll pay for it. Just because one person thinks it's too high, doesn't mean that it's automatically too high. I say, if it seems worth it to you and, you think it's worth it, then buy it. If you plan on unloading it within a couple years, maybe you should look around a little more.

I looked for a year to find one in that kind of condition, never found it. Seems to be a deal because they are so hard to find in that kind of condition. I have found that all the mods other people do usually turn into head aches for me. You got any pics or how to find it online.
