Unhappy Cracked Head?

Hey guys
Truck overheated on me and i may have cracked my head or the head-gasket went south on me . No coolant in the oil but she's blowing steam out the tail pipe. No white smoke on start up only after truck warms up a Little. What does it cost to have a head replaced or Head-gasket job done.
Any other suggestion's to cut cost man i hate being a broke college student.

Thanks Guys

I have a 2inch Body Lift on the truck. Its real hard to get in four wheel drive and if I can get in it pops right back out. If I take the boot off it works fine but its still rubbing a little on the sides.

for the life of me I can't remember exactly what one looks like, so bear with me:

1. can you remove it, rotate it 90 or 180 degrees, and reinstall it, and if so would that fix the problem?
2. would a transmission shift lever work in the place of the t-case shift lever, and could that fix the problem? If so I've got plenty of spare tranny shift levers....
3. could you cut it in half, weld a piece of pipe in it and weld it back together making it longer?

Option #3 is what you're looking for. You may also need to change the angle a bit to get body clearance. Or notch out the floor pan a little to give it the needed clearance. With a 3" body lift my body moved around enough relative to the transmission that I had to notch the floor pan so the shifter would clear in off camber situations even though there was plenty of clearance on the level.

Think I'm going to weld a piece of rod in and notch out the floor pan a little.
Thanks Guys
