37" MT/Rs Gears: same, lift: none. EDIT: no lift = hello cut-off, sawzall, BFH, and other body massaging tools.

Thanks, my thoughts exactly... which is why i bought it!

So I got some more done with the rig. Got the tires mounted and went with the dynamic balancing route... figured up around 10 oz of BBs. went ahead and just put 3000 in, should be around 11-12 ozs. After getting them on, I realized just how much trimming this is going to take. Not your walk in the park. I've removed everything out of the back, working on pulling the ECU and putting it in the glovebox, and the fuse box needs relocated up as well.... Going to have to tub about 2" off the firewall, and about the same off the corners of the rears... Decided on the center of the rears im just going to remove the pinchweld and make it curved. should net be about 1.5". I'll flex that out and see what I get before i weld it back up. On to some pics:

Got the fenders off to cut the firewall:

Good before and after on just the tires:

Got a lot more done last night and tonight. stripped the interior last night to make way for the plasma cutter. Took the plasma to it tonight, and its all good to go. Guys at work are fabbin up some patch panels tonight, should have them ready in the morn. I'm just going to tack them on and wheel it to see if we've actually trimmed enough, but flexing it out, it looks pretty good. Ended up taking a moderate amount out of the floor board and cab corner, some out of each rear quarter (moreso in the rear), and about an inch or two around the top (didnt need as much as i thought, tire kinda tucks in there! I'll get some pics up tomorrow of the work!

Thanks! Actually *knock on wood* I havent had problems with CVs. I tend to break the inner axle shafts, specifically the passenger one. I'm on my 3rd right now, and that was with 33"s. Funny as it may, I believe that where i broke the first 2 shafts, the 37"s will actually make it easier.

I'm more worried about steering components than anything else. I'm pretty sure a tire rod, or idler arm will be the death of my front end. (thus prompting a SAS).

I do have an 85. Its actually a project to sell. I'm not keepin it... Thought about keepin it for a trail rig, but if i get another, it will be a ext. cab pickup.

I have 2 spare 85 axles for mine to start off with... if i blow through those, its time for a D60. And yes, mine will be ready to wheel come the weekend after next, with the 37"s and some spare parts.... need to find a spare idler arm REALLY bad.

sounds like you got a plan. i'm going to do community college for two years and work to make some money before i go to osu, and was thinkin about puttin some in the 4runner. i got the rattle of death in my knuckles from the cvs and really want to sas, but only go with a 3'' kit and 33's. Or i could just replace the knuckles....lol but a solid axle is so much cooler. sorry to hijack.
Take alot of pictures for me when yall go. i got a track meet in austin that weekend which sucks cause i was looking forward to meeting up with some YTers

no worries on the hijack!

Will work on takin pics... and sorry you cant make it. there will be other trips though!

I'd like to sas mine, but i find it more economical to squeeze as much as possible out of the IFS. but I have a feeling the 37"s will finally kill it beyond resurrection (unless i find more cheap spare parts lying around... problem is the only other toyotas i got are SA, not IFS).

lol, it is when you're tryin to scrounge up some IFS parts for your wheelin rig! Wouldnt be bad if my wheelin rig was a SA... one day.

On a side note, i found a 4.3L vortec and just about bought it.....

well, everything is all welded up, painted up and fixed up. from the inside, unless your a toyota fanatic, you'd never know i hacked up the firewall. on the outside, the fender are trimmed up nicely, but you can tell something isnt quite normal. i'll hopefully get some pics posted up after this weekend.
