another t100 clutch problem

i know there is a lot about this on here and elsewhere on net. i have read so much, but havent exactly hit the nail on the head. so i aplogize iin advance if i missed the answer somewhere.

96 t100. bought two days ago. runs great except have to push clutch pedal into floorboard to get it to disengage. new clutch master cyl. new clutch slave. clutch pedal assy is black so im assuming its the upgrade. no cracks. firewall looks good. bled lines repeatedly. no air iin them. clutch master cyl is adjusted all the way out. i even swapped out the clutch slave cyl push rod with another that is 1/2 inch longer to see if travel was the problem. I have a very slight amount of firewall flex. maybe 1/8th inch. clutch pedal assy flexes to the side a slight amount also. I wouldn't think it would be enough to cause any issues, especially since master is adjusted all way out, and slave push rod has been lengthened a 1/2 inch. or am I wrong? should I start thinking about internal clutch, pressure plate, release bearings, etc??? any help Is appreciated.

Are you sure you have the correct master and slave unit installed? It's a possibility the previous owner installed the wrong one(s). I would verify the parts with the OEM ones.

This might be the problem, I would never use autozone parts. It's a ridiculous thing to do because both master and slave are rebuildable and all the parts to do so are sold in a kit.

For the 3.4, 04311-34010 ($48) is the rebuild kit for master, 04313-17010 ($16) is the one for the slave. Buying online lowers the prices about 30%. You just have to be sure the master and slave are original before trying this.
