96 t100 performance 5vz build
Hi everyone! This is my first post ever! I've never really been part of a forum, I only pour through them for help. I wanted to start a thread because my goal is to begin on the truck build I've wanted forever. I've got a 96 t100 that I want to supercharge and make into a good looking and good performing daily. Cosmetics and such will come later. Now I focusing on getting the power/efficiency that I want.
What I know already is that the 96 pcm does not support the TRD supercharger well. I don't know if that's poor high speed communication or fuel management or what. I know that my motor, with more than a quarter million on it will not handle boost well. If I could do the build thst want, I would rebuild another 5vz with the same displacement but a more aggressive cam, and then get into the boost. I've heard these tend to run lean with a blower so a seventh injector is neccessary.
My goals in starting this thread is to get some background on the pcm problem, what to use for a piggyback/tuning interfsce, and motor build options. If anyone has a background in this area or knows who might that would be super appreciated.
Thanks guys!

The early 5vz is harder to boost because of limited engine management I understand. Look at URD (underdog racing development) for info. You could also use a water meth injection for tuning. Probably have more options with the meth injection. Coolingmist progressive kit.
