radio harness

I recently got my hands on a stock radio from a 98 4 runner with three seperate pieces. The head unit, the amp, and the cd changer I believe. It looks like there is supposed to be two plugs going into the back of the amp from the stock 4runner, that were not included. Does anyone out there have access to this wiring harness from the truck to the amp, or have any ideas on how to get it wired into my truck (89 4runner) Thanks

If the plugs on your 4runner have not been cut, they will plug right into the back of the amp.

Yea I looked the plugs have all been cut. Actually they have been cut, spliced, recut, and respliced. I am contemplating going down to radio shak and just making each individual wire connection to the back of the radio. Am I correct in understanding though that the harness did not change from 89 to 98??

Correct, same R1/R2 style plygs. You might try going to a wrecking yard and seeing if you can find the plugs from an actual 89 with lots of wire, and re-wire the factory plugs in there.

Then if you ever get an aftermarket stereo, you can wire it in with radio harness adapters, and not have to cut your factory plugs ever again.

yea I am actually about 4 blocks away from nix99, but they havent been answering their phone. I see they have the stock radio there though and want more than 250 for it. I am thinking they might not want to part out the harness from it. I'll keep on trying though. Thanks for the input, it would definately be nice to get the harness hooked up for current and future use.
