Alternater help
OK. So I replaced my alternator and useing my power inverter it showed it was puting out up to 18 volts. I then shut the truck off and now have no power to my ignition. The next day i was trying to check for my fuseible links and of course can't find the dam things and when I check to see if I had brake lights ( which came on) I had power agian. So I started the truck and checked the power going to the battery and it did'nt seem like it was getting a charge, but at the lighter it was still putting out too much voltage. So I shut the truck off and now I'm back at square one with no power to the ignition. But my headlights still work. Anybody have any ideas?

when running the alt should put out about 14 vdc. i don't remember if the yota alt has an internal or external volt regulator. if it's internal take it back and have them test it. otherwise find the volt reg and replace that
