Ogled Toyota's all my life.
Drove a 2000 Corolla in highschool (parents'). The engine spun a rod, and is in the process of doing it again.
Bought a 1989 2wd Truck (The Hamas Taxi) when I was 16, used it for the summer doing landscaping/ construction.
Bought a 4Runner in Oct 2007, drive it daily. Only problems I've had are from lack of maintenance on the part of previous owners and shoddy work done my the last owner.

Got my current truck 04/2008, my first car. Parents have a 2003 Pontiac Vibe=Toyota Matrix=Corolla which I used to drive. I used to be a die-hard Honda fan, dream car was a s2000 (or a BMW M5, but that's off topic) and realistically my first car was gonna be a Prelude. But then for some reason I started to really want a Toyota truck, and it drives me insane because I don't remember why I suddenly had the change of heart... I still love Hondas, but I can't forgive them for not making a decent truck... It's funny because I had an uncle in who worked at a Honda supplier plant in Japan, and my mom's friend is the manager of a Toyota dealership, also in Japan. I used to give him crap all the time about how Honda made better cars than Toyota, and now that I own a Yota, he is quite the smug.
