protecting CV boots

reading around, one of the biggest things with IFS seems to be tearing boots. Usually due from old age and exposure. Has anyone thought of putting a good non silicone base rubber treatment like 3M's? Mabey help extend the life of the rubber? I meen even If you had to reach under and spray them every week or so would it be worth having a cv boot last twice as long? Just a thought and I would like to hear some of your opinions.
Here is a link with a lil info on rubber protecting

I checked the link out, and I like the idea. I may get around to doing that.

I'm goin' with some high quality non-rubber boots when the 3 rubber ones that are left do finally go. You see I found some cheap on rockauto.com, so I tried one here recently when a standard rubber one failed. They're the Spicer Professional Grade, and they are NICE! Super sturdy material, I wanna say it's polyurethane, but I don't know for sure. I've bought many boots in my day for a number of vehicles and these are my recommendation by far.
