only a 22r would run like this
ok so im rebuilding a motor i got from my buddy ,and while disasemblimg it we found the number one piston had chunks out of it and had been eaten away, and almost all the rings on the engine were broken.
now i had alot of faith in the 22r's before and knew how strong they were, but this just blows my mind!

I had one that ran with a blown head gasket and broken compression rings on all 4 cylinders.
Knowing it was the last trip on that motor, I beat the crap out of it in the desert. I think it was at 5k+rpm and the temp gauge was pegged for over an hour.
Still ran well enough to get the truck home.
Replaced the rings, rolled some new crank bearings into it and replaced the headgasket in my apartment garage (no lights, no power).
Engine lasted a couple more years and still ran when I yanked it.
