Door lock jammed 1980 truck

Door lock jammed 1980 truck
Ok, something I really havent had the pleasure of dealing with yet. Got some new to me parts including the door lock nobs for my 80 model pickup. Put it on, and the lock on that door started acting wierd, lock wouldnt move all the way up or down. Now door wont open, or do anything for that matter. Any advice on where to start?

Are you sure the knobs were for the truck specifically? It sounds like maybe the barrel is binding in the hole and is stuck half way. Or else the actuator arm is bent and again stuck half way... I'm not that familiar with the earlier trucks...
You may need to remove the inner panel partially and fiddle with it from inside the truck... major PITA I know... I'd wait a day or two if you can before doing anything drastic we have a few members who have your model and they may have a better idea for you...
