Anybody run 14" swampers?
I've wanted some really aggressive tires for my 2wd Toyota. I was looking at 14" SSR tires. The size is 27x9.50R14LT...will these fit. Anybody have any problems with them? I think it will make my truck stand out from the rest...and give it a cool look

I'm just worried about the rub. The tires tuck in pretty nicely now. They are 225/70r14 Wildcat A/T's. I've done too many burn outs and two are really bad. The diameter is 26.4"...so its only 3/4 of an inch more.

I have never owned a 2WD or a truck with something smaller than 15's but I don't think you will be the first. I have seen a few 2WD 2nd and 3Rd Gen trucks running around the Portland area with mud tires. If they rub in the rear you should be able to tweek the inside edge of the fender well. Doing the front Pinch weld with a BFH should help cure any issues you might have when turning lock to lock.
If you get them from Schwab's or any local shop they should do a fit test for you.

the way it looks now i doubt you will have a problem with the fit, 3/4 of an inch isn't much diffrence... Alot of people from my hunting club ran mud tires on the back of their 2wd isuzu trucks and they ran through the mud pretty good, but you can only do so much with a 2wd because there is no weight on the rearend... but I think why most people get stuck is because they don't know how to drive, you can have the biggest baddest 4wd on the face of the earth, but if you can't drive it right you will get stuck... I have seen 2wds go places where 4wds have got stuck, its all in how you drive, just my .02... go ahead yall comment and say i'm wrong, it wont hurt my feelings, but yeah i would run with the swapers, i think you will like them and it will set your truck off

Thats what I tell everyone else. ALL my friends drive big 4wds. And they tell me I can't make it through any mud because its ONLY a 2wd. I've had WAY more mud on my truck than any of them have EVER had. I know what your talking about...and I plan on getting a limited slip. Though there isn't any weight on the bed and it will only go so far. I'm a pretty good driver and I've ONLY owned 2wds...well thats a lie...but I've only driven 2wds because they are a challenge

I'm wondering which ones to get. Any suggestions? I also want to paint/powder coat my wheels black

Mud wheeling (especially in a 2wd) is well...lame. Haha, Im just kidding you. In my opinion I'd say that you'll be just fine, and if not (as stated before) a little hammer work will fix you up proper. Hope it all works out.

My vote is the SSR in the middle. Not sure the difference between the middle and the last. But the first and the last...one is I think a Bias and the other is a Radial...which I'd rather have a radial

i havn't heard that many good things about the ssr, but the tsl i have heard the best... i wouldn't worry about the wear, they will last as long as you don't do the burnouts like you were saying, the radial would be the best, it just depends what you wanna spend

TSL it is! I was thinking about lifting it though. 3" suspension and a 2" body...and then "maybe" 31" tires. I'm not sure though. I like that it is low to the ground. I don't think lifting it would really make me happy. Although I think it might look good. What do you think?

i say you sould get a floor jack and some stands to jack up your truck and take a long look, sit it in, just to make sure thats what you want... thats what i did with trucks to find out what i wanted and how it would look.... that way you dont spend all this time and money doing this to your truck and then turn around and take it right back off

I'd sell it anyway cuz its a runner. LOL. I'm sure there are MANY 2wds that could out wheel your runner. Not mind
