22R Bolt Torque Specs?

Hi guys,

New here, great forums you have!

I tried searching all around in here and couldn't find this info. The crappy Haynes manual I have doesn't list all the torque specs I need to reassemble my freshly machined 22R. I want to get this engine into the truck and running this weekend!

I need the following bolt torque specs. If it matters, the block is an '83 22R and the head is an '80 20R. If you can help, I'd sure appreciate it!

Head bolts
Main cap bolts
Flywheel to crank bolts
Pressure plate to flywheel bolts
Harmonic balancer bolt

This would be a great article for the Wiki, wouldn't it? Could be added onto to include all of the torque specs for all the bolts on the engine.

Factory Service Manual would give all those specs:

Why yes, it would I'm sure. Problem is, I really want to get this engine assembled and installed this weekend but wouldn't be able to order and get a manual that quick.

Is there anyone out there who wouldn't mind looking them up and replying here?

Thanks!

Hey, thanks for the link!

I looked at the link in the first reply and reading the info there it sounded like only the early '90s and later FSMs were available online.

Unfortunately, there's something wrong with the pdf on that page you just posted, it won't download to my computer. I tried it just by saving the PDF directly and by installing and trying that amazing download software and it won't work either way. Bummer.

Oh well, I did find the info I needed by searching around in other areas, and the engine's not getting installed today anyway as the crankshaft is screwed up and one of the rocker arms isn't aligning properly with an exhaust valve.

Probably take at least another week to get this stuff straightened out.

Building engines would be fun if you could find machine shops that could actually do good quality work...
