I did a bit of searching but I wasnt able to come up with definite answers. Maybe you guys can help me. Forgive me if my typing is messy and all over the place.

I have a 1989 5speed 22r pick up in which I blew the headgasket. I plan on installing a new headgasket along with a 22re efi head. I have the complete wire harness and ecu, BUT the harness and ecu is from an automatic transmission 22re. I have all the efi parts, fuel pump and all that stuff, but I was just making sure that the wire harness and ecu would work for my situation being that it is a 5 speed truck BUT ecu is meant for an auto and because of the difference in years. any info would be greatly appreciated, thanks

Should work fine. You will need to trick the ECU into thinking the automatic is in neutral. Search '5 speed swap' for details on running the auto ECU with a manual.

thanks very much! my main concern was making sure everything would plug right in. after looking at the pickup, it seems as though it was originally a 22re, atleast I dont have to get a efi fuel pump and extra fuel lines. ill post back on how it turns out. thanks again!
