RATS RATS everywhere there was a wire
Have recently acquired a 88 pickup with 22R manual trans. Hasn't ran in several years and only shows 55000 on odometer. Rats have chewed all wires apart in engine compartment and some under seat. Will repair this and donate to person that needs a truck. Cruised through the parts for sale page but didn't see any wiring harness for this year truck. Wondering if anybody with exp. knows if another year would work or poss a 4Runner? Would like to buy complete harness for engine bay and poss more. But don't know if anything will fit other than the exact truck?
Any help would be highly appreciated.

What a noble cause. Thanks for your kindness, and best of luck with the project. I hope you could find the correct harness for it. If not, perhaps wires can be repaired?

Wish I could repair it. Darn rats ate wiring all the way to connectors and then some into them. Kinda funny sorta. Ran into this a lot when in motorcycle biz but they usually just nibbled around. After chewing wires apart they seemed to take the wire with them so all the truck has is what's left of the connectors.

If you are looking for a stock harness, good luck. Only from a junk yard. You can Google aftermarket wiring harnesses and inquire as to your needs requirement. I had the same problem, I bought an aftermarket 21 circuit wiring harness and installing it into my 81. Mine truck is pretty basic as compared to yours, but take your time and do it right

I would try to find an original harness from the same year/ model if possible. Then the job of "rewiring" the truck is as close to plug n' play as you can get.
All of the wiring would be there and you won't have to ask yourself "how the heck am I supposed to connect this part".
