Need to get my truck to pass smog! 84 22r pickup

Hi,

So due to forgetfulness/money issues I have been having to take my time with fixing my truck. My BSV for the EGR had broken so I just left the hose open. My registration was up at the end of April and I took it to get smogged the last week of April (NEVER doing that again). I was sure I would pass. I was wrong. So very wrong. Here are my numbers for the 1st test:

RPM - 921 co2 - 13.6 o2 - 0.1 HC - 154 (150=Max) co - 1.67 (.1=max)
RPM - 2514 co2 - 13.2 o2 - 0.3 HC - 75 (180=Max) co - 2.22 (.2=max)

Sufficed to say I was bummed/shocked. SO almost 2 months later I have been tinkering with it. Here is what I did:

Got a newer BSV from pick and pull. This was form a later 80s model. I hooked it up to the EGR system based on the BSV model I think I have in the book, not how my old one was.

I replaced my spark plugs. I did this about a year ago or so but my old ones were already semi-fouled. (brown/tan almost ash like build up) My spark plug wires were replaces last year with the old plugs.

I got a new 02 sensor. I had to go with the Bosch due to money/time issues. (No one seems to have the ngk/denso in stock)

I replaced the air filter.

I adjusted my idle fuel mixture. Before I did this I was getting about 14MPG afterwards I am sitting at about 16MPG.

Here are the results from this morning:

RPM - 1081 co2 - 13.4 o2 - 2.1 HC - 29 (150=Max) co - 0.03 (.1=max)
RPM - 2541 co2 - 13.3 o2 - 0.2 HC - 100 (180=Max) co - 2.43 (.2=max)

Based on these numbers I wanna say that the engine isn't getting enough o2 at the higher rpm, causing inefficient burn, causing the higher HC and the Horrible co. Thing is I have no clue what to do to fix that. =/ I have tried googling and searching the forums but I haven't found many threads with the same issue. (low 02 high co only at high rpm) I apologize if I missed something simple/obvious in the other threads or searching. I am still newer to working on my truck myself. My gearhead friends have all moved away so I am on my own, which is a good thing in the end. XD

I am debating a new cat for the test. I also plan on getting a weber carb when I have the money, but that is months away. I am thinking of running my fuel tank down, putting in high octane and adding some denatured alcohol for the next test but IDK if that will actually help me pass atm.

Any suggestions?

I do not like the Bosch O2 Sensors and in general their parts do not work great for these Toyota trucks. I get my O2 sensor from www.sparkplugs.com From what I have read, the factory catalytic converter is about best for passing smog test. The aftermarket ones are built poorly. Clean your EGR system. I have gotten them working just by cleaning the carbon out of them. I like to run Seafoam thru my trucks intakes periodiacally. That helps clean the sytem out.

Try Googling with Yotatech in the search engine with Failed Smog. The Yotatech search feature is not the best.
