maxxis bighorns

Today I was in the local lesschwab and saw a set of 33x12.5x15 bighorns and they looked impressive...I had never given them a thought because all the pictures I ever saw of them and the smaller 30's and 31's looked a little weak...are any of you guys running or ran them and how do they work?

Put em on the girlfriends Tacoma and they seem pretty awesome so far. Did good in the snow and the mud. Have them center sipes and they last a lot longer. I worked at a les Schwab and a tire factory for about 3 years total so I'm pretty knowledgable on tires. Best tires there are are the dick cepek mountain cats (available at les Schwab only) and Cooper discoverer stts on toyotas. They go forever and will go anywhere. I don't know how long the bighorns last but if you rotate them when you change your oil they'll last a long ass time. For the price you can't beat em. I'd say yes give em a shot.

sweet I posted a thread earlier asking for some advice on tires and the claws were my first choice but I started thinking about how much i'm going to use them and $500 bucks a tire is not for me...my orginal plan was the stt's but I think I found my tires in the bighorns they look knarly and they are only going to get about 3k put on them a year ill run my little 31's to and from work until they go bad and then I'm going to go with a cooper atr I had a set on my 92 and they were a nice road tire with a little grab on dry stuff...how much did those maxxis run ya if you don't mind me asking...I work at a rental company right next door to schwabs and they were going to give me toyo m/t for $1,000 mounted and balanced which is a pretty screamin deal sense they want 256 a tire normally

Do not buy the toyo mts! Worst tires in the world. Especially on a Toyota. They are the heaviest tire I've ever handled and they wear out ball joints and every other front end part they can. I have never liked them even when I worked at schwabs none of us would put them on our rigs and I finally caved and put a set on my excursion and they are junk. They are only an aesthetically pleasing tire. People will say they like them and on a big truck they are half ass ok but on toyotas they are so hard on things. Just looking out for fellow yota techers is all. I'd get the bighorns if it comes down to those two for a choice. I will never put Toyota mts on anything.

I have the big horns on my 94 dodge ram. in the same size your looking at.
and loved em, they wore pretty good.

Did good on the road and pretty dang good off the road.

And i had 38x15r15 toyos on my blazer and i honestly loved them.
But are def. overpriced.

that would have been sick they look nice when they are all done I though about putting pre-runner fenders on my 85...it would give it a different look and add some extra room...and my wife wants me to turn her little nissan into a pre-runner
