call me stupid but....
I'm looking at some 35x14.5x15 Thornbirds and on the Interco site it says 15x10 wheels. what is wrong with running 15x8 wheels on them? even if temporary? would it get me by on a trail? any damage going to be done? I want to know all the details. thanks in advance...

The risk is the tire will come of the rim. Trail driving puts a lot of stress on the bead that's why they make beadlocks. IMO, I think 8" rims will hold the 14.5" wide tire, but it's kinda pushing it. I ran 305s (12") on my 7" stock rims for a long time w/ no problems but you're taking it further than that. They might not even mount up, dunno.
I know 1st gens have good clearance, but can you run 35s w/ a 3" lift?

Think about it, that's 6 extra inches hanging off the rim.
3" of tread width over the rim on both side, not including the side-wall bow.
It's going to look very bubble-esque, and you risk popping a bead.
