plenty of info to be had on this. I suggest going to 4crawlar's site to begin with. open the diagnostic thingy next to your underhood fuse box and jump b+ to fp with his special diagnostic tool. that will tell you if the pump runs. work backwards along the circuit from there.

X2 on above suggestion. Start with the basics. Is the fuel pump working, does it have power , is fuel filter plugged, Etc....

It is a round plug (circled in light blue as noted on the above web page, typically with 2 wires/terminals (the T and E1 terminals) and yes you use a jumper wire.

I looked at my truck yesterday. It's a few miles away from here,so it's not right here.I didn't notice any round plugs going into the inner fender as shown in the picture.I also have a misunderstanding about which plug to use the jumper in(square circled in red)(small round circled in blue).

May not be inserted into the round rubber plug holders, they might just be hanging down loose. Blue circle is diagnostics plug (for reading codes, setting timing), red circle is fuel pump test jumper (turns on the fuel pump for testing), green circle is O2 sensor testing connector.

When I turned the ignition on to check and see if the fuel pump was working ,(by seeing if it was pumping fuel out of the gas line that goes into the fuel filter) the efi tank was disconnected from the intake manifold, which is and was connected to the block. Are there any sensors that would prevent the fuel pump from working with that disconnected?

Fuel pump won't normally run when the key is on (only). It either needs the Air Flow Meter vane open or the fuel pump test jumper installed:

Also some hoses and maybe plugs not connected to the efi tank.Do you think that could be why my fuel pump wasn't pumping fuel with ignition on?
I wanted to see if the fuel pump was working and didn't realize that there were sensors or anything else that would keep it from working.
