yukon gear 4:88 install

hey all i just dropped my 4runner off at roco 4x4 to regear going from mismatched 4:10 front and a highway gear and extreemly noisy rear to brand new 4:88 from marlin. i should get it back by thurs lunchtime. I cant wait!

well i had 33's on with the bad noisy rear and it was a dog so i sold the bfg mt's for some craiglist stock rubber as temp tires. i ordered these bad boys from www.treadwright.com 439 shipped to my door! so 4:88 with th 31's should be very nice. hopefully they wont be to short. marlin 1200lb clutch is next.

You'll love your 4.88s and 31s! I also used to have a 2wd 2nd gen with 3.90s, so I know... Let us know how you like it!

damn looks like the po swapped the rear for a 4cyl rear. more waiting till they get the right parts. crap. i might just have them change the knuckle bearings seeing how i have to wait.

turns out the front diff was geared to a 4:56 and the rear was a 3:90.

x2 on the clutch. but i went with the 1800. its just a hair stiffer. but after the frist day your used to it. i like a stiffer clutch though, i wouldnt mind fro it to be a little firmer. helps out A TON where im 4.10s on 35s fro a DD

yea, there good clutches.. ive been beating on mine for over a year no problems at all. lots of 6krpm clutch dumps

omg so the truck also had a different type of front diff? wth! now i think this thing was a 2wd at birth. he said the front gears were wrong also something about a reverse rotaional gear? any ideas? they ordered the right stuff now

sounds like a reverse cut high pinion front diff? but that doesn't sound right since it's still IFS right? looks like the standard ADD front diff to me definitely not a high pinion one.
