Well, I think my Revos have run their course, 47,000 miles and still look decent but I keep getting flats and one of my tires looks like whats left of the tread is either chewed up or starting to come apart a little, probably from spinning it up a long shale covered rock a couple weekends ago while out on the trails here in WV!! Anyway I'm leaning towards the Yokahoma Geolander AT/S tires this time around, they look like similar tread to the REVO, rate highly on Tirerack and with the free shipping on discounttiredirect are a good deal in my opinion. Anyone running them, any pics of a 31x10.50 or 30x9.5 for comparison sake??? I'm not sure I can justify the price of another set of Revos, but they were hands down the best set of tires Ive ever owned on any truck or SUV. The 31" Yoks are $500 to my door, where the revos would be $750... My main concern is wet traction and to make sure they balance good as I drive on the highway about 50% of the time, the Revos were smooth, queit and offered great all around perfomance in everything except the wonderful WV clay mud!!! Other than the Geolander AT/S does anyone offer up any other AT solutions?

I can get off brand tires locally for about $500-$550 mounted and balanced, if I get the Yoks, Im looking at a total of $560, shipped mounted and balanced. I looked at Treadwrights but with the $100 shipping charge I might as well just buy new from Discount, its about the same price.... Anyone??!

I have Pathfinder Sport SUV radials on my 88 and so far I've put about 15000 miles on them and they wore down the injection molding little thingy's about 5000 miles ago. They handle rather well in the wet but mud tends to clog the tread. I bought these because they were not that expensive and most of the off-road I do is either sand / desert or basic trails (it was my work truck for a while). They are quiet on the street also.
Not sure they're the same tire you're contemplating though.

ill tell you this... if they last and perform like my set of Yoko H/Ts tires do, then get em...

my yokos are over 4 years old and have close to 40K on them and they still have over half tread... very smooth on the highway but they are not the best offroad...

now, i know that they are highway tires, but still... yokos just plain ride nice...

I ran a set of Yokohama Geolander A/T's, and they were a VERY nice tire off road. Lots of grip, even on slimy rocks and they did really well in deep snow as well.

They are a soft tire, and they probably only gave me 40k miles.

They didn't perform as well as others in clay and mud of course, but for traction in situations where you've got something hard under you, you probably won't be disappointed.

They also ran really quiet on the highway.

I am now trying out a different tire, but I'm deliberately hard on them, hoping to get back to some Geolanders soon.

Im really leaning towards the AT/S tires this time around, if I go down a size to teh 30x9.50 id probably get a little better MPG, they are lighter and they would be about $50 cheaper for the set of 4.... Ive heard really good things about them and a few people have compared them directly to the REVO's... I would spring for another set of those but after the unexpected head gasket job I just cant justify putting another $750 in my truck right now!!! Im loving my new Bilstien HD shocks though, much much smoother than the Rancho RS9000s that I have been running for the life of the Revos!

There are some great suggestions on here already, my only one is to search a little bit on here and see what other ones you can find.
I know a lot of people have posted entire threads giving a good review of specific tires - I may have even done one or two, I can't remember.

I'll be honest with ya, going from REVO's ($$$) to an off-brand cheaper tire may not be the easiest transition for you to make.
Just throwing that out there.

I have Bridgestone 695s, I went with after my revos, because they were a bit cheaper, and I was a bit leary because there was not much data about them, I have now had them for 2 months and 4 big snows here in St. Louis and I like them better than my Revos

Ive thought about Treadwrights many times but with $100 in shipping they work out to about the same price as going through Discount Tire for a set of brand new tires!!! I think Im going to order some Yokos this weekend, Im going to stop at Sams club and see what they have, the GF's G35 needs its tires balanced so Ill be ther anyway!

Sam's is hands down the best place to buy tires, at least around here where we don't have Les Schwab or Discount.
I bet you'll find what you need there - if not they can probably order whatever you want.

These Mastercraft Courser MT's are great all around and will work very well in your WV clay/mud been very good for me in Romney's mess and they last forever and are not very loud on the road and look good as well.

get some nice mudders like bfg m/t and i bet they will last a long time. bfg mall terrains arent that good for offroading.

I thought someone out there was going through the same thing!

I'm down to 5/32 on my revos, and as much as I like the tires, I dont think I'd buy them again just based on their price and total lack of performance in any kind of soily/earthy conditions. Great in the snow/ice and pretty good in the rain. I've got just over 100,000km out of them(62,000miles).

Thanks for your input so far everyone and I'll be looking at these Geolanders pretty quick!

If you only do occasional or mild trail running then get the Yoks,my mom has 'em on her '99 and she really likes them and the price was right. Solid DD tire and does well in the wet but not really in the same but not really in the same category as the BFG or Nitto A/Ts which give up a little more of the on-road performance for off road gains.

I didn't read all of the thread but I haven't had a flat tire since 2003 after I went to Super Swamper SSR's on both of my rigs. I don't even have a spare (not smart) but I haven't ran into a problem and I still have a lot of tire life left on both trucks.
