wierd vacuum hose problem

wierd vacuum hose problem

When I connect the #2 vacuum hose to the intake, the truck cuts off. 1995 3vze. Any ideas?

ok just saying the #2 vacuum hose doesn't tell us anything. due to the fact that it might of been changed at sometime or the #2 might be different on someone Else's if u can please take a pic of the hose and where its going then we might be able to help u figure out whats going on.

Take a look at this thread and check all your vacuum hoses:

In post #1, the left picture has all the connections numbered, and post #11 tells you where to connect each end. I'd check all the hoses to make sure they're hooked up properly.

Thanks for the diagrams, I had #5 and #6 mixed up. The vacuum line to the egr valve and the one that goes around to the other side of the intake. I do have a question about #1 #2 and the plugged vacuum that goes to the gas filter. Does it matter which order 1 and 2 go in? I noticed that the gas filter is screwed in so it could be upside down according to the diagram. I hooked mine up according to the diagram using the little toyota imprint as a reference to the gas filters position.

It doesn't matter where the hoses are on the gas filter.
