wierd oil leak
ok so i have a wierd oil leak which appears to be coming from the transfer case (i have a 95 truck 22re with 4runner trans and tcase and 83 front and rear axles)
looking at the tcase there is some oil on the back side of the case, oil all over the bottom of the cab, and none on the driveshaft (drive shaft is bone dry)
my teacher at votec looked at me like i was stupid and told me it was coming off the driveshaft which could be but im skeptical since the shaft is bone dry. id think that could be the cause but wouldnt there still be some residue on the shaft (plus this is the same jacka** that told me my truck was going to break in half because i did a solid axle swap)
i talked to my welding teacher and he said that lots of chevys had the oil sending unit go bad and would spray oil on the cab and it would drip down there (i cant think of anything back there except for the headgasket that might cause that and ive never heard of a head gasket blowing only between oil pressure and outside)
maybe time for a tcase rebuild?
last thing i can think of is, is the stamped piece of metal inbetween the shifter and the tcase housing. is it really that important that if it wasnt there it would cause it to leak like that
idk any suggestions should be helpful just wanted to consult people who actually owned toyotas and not the votec teacher that thinks he knows everything thanks

ok ill check the drain plug is tight i do have a question about the fill plug
there is a plug that is maybe 2 inches above the lowest point on the tcase is that the fill plug? it seems like it doesnt have much oil in it if that is the fill plug
ill look at the rear output soon
i also have to replace the rear main (makes me mad because its already leaking after 12000 miles thats what i get for ordering parts from oreilies)
