Question Why won't my truck start?

Started happening about a week ago on my carbed 86. I went to start it and all I got was a "click." Its not the clutch switch because if I try to start the truck without the pedal depressed I don't even get a click. Tested my battery, that was good. Tried jumping it anyway off my mustang's optima, still clicked. Got out my multimeter and tested my cables... everything looks ok, I get 12v on the control cable to the starter when I try to start it. After doing some research I read that it was probably the contacts in the solenoid. I replaced the contact that looked worn, went to start the truck and got the click again. So I pulled the starter off, hooked a battery directly up to it and it would click, move the plunger, but then it wouldn't spin. The brushes looked good and at this point I just bought a rebuilt Denso starter off the internet. It came in today and I bolted it up, then started the truck... CLICK.

Whats going on??

Fuses look OK when i checked a week ago. I'll have someone listen to the relay too. Aren't relays supposed to click though??

Well if the signal wire was having a problem would the starter even click when I turn the key?

If your battery tests good and the new starter just clicks, I would take your battery terminals off, clean them, make sure you can't pull them off the cables and reinstall them. This has worked for me and friends several times.
Good luck.

Check ground at battery and where it is grounded. Make sure everything is clean. If you have power/amps and starter is good, thats most likely the problem.

Dz the starter will still click if that wire is bad its just not letting it get enough power i ended up completely bypassing mine and ran another wire from the relay to the starter its been doin fine like that for about a year now
