Who's had to?

Anyone ever had to replace their heater controls switches??
what a p.i.t.a
i wouldnt of guessed you had to remove everything to get to these controls...

new one installed

Anyone know why some of the heater control face plates are different?
for example the one i got from the 87 from the junkyard shows where the heater selector switch is going, but the old one on my 87 said, heat-dual heat- and some other things...

ps. dont mind all the red and black spotches all over the place haha.

Ive taken my secnond gen dash apart numerous times without any issues. it does take alot to get to those switches but its not THAT big of a PITA

Then again ive had mine apart too many times I could do it in my sleep

i think that they may have switched mid year or something like that... just looking back at some old pics, and my brother in laws 85 had your old heater face and my sisters 87 had your newer heater face... odd...

Oh so true Nothing is worse to take apart than the panels in my chevy though. The dash is a different story its the easiest truck ive EVER put a stereo in for. Just those damn side panels

diff faces and they also changed the harness around a bit too. Some of them plug in right at the back and others have the plug much lower down the harness

My stupid vent selector keeps comming off and messing up my cup holder...

With fall here.. I guess I should fix it again.

Once you have removed the dash a few times its pretty dang easy
