Here's how it works, only post your mileage is higher than the previous poster.

Note, here's the layout:

1. mileage in miles
2. what engine?
3. vehicle specs
4. let us know if its got a new engine, transmission, diffs, frame even
5. any accidents (carfax tells me mine's had 6! haha)
6. cool facts about your high mileage truck/ 4Runner

Note: for the Canadians, there are 1.6km to the mile, just convert it for our American friends.


Here goes:

1. 174xxx mi
2. 22RE
3. 1990 4runner 5spd
4. new head, its broken its timing chain at least twice. I've got no reason to assume anything else major has broken ever.
5. 6 accidents (insurance claims) before I purchased it and then I tipped it on its side. I still runs great and tracks straight.
6. I did the timing chain, fuel filter with one hand out of commission. I also once got 26 mpg coming back from a fishing trip some 200 miles away.

(Now if Billy has 200K, he posts it up, if he has 150K, he doesn't, got it?)

4: ate a head gasket at 300,xxx miles, and the clutch is just about gone. have done ONE timing chain(about 160,000 miles ago), did a alternator, couple starters, and have replaced the bench once, im wishing i had done buckets. anywho...
5: a buddy of mine when i first got it slammed it backwards into a Saturn, then took off. i walked over there and told them just cuz im a nice person, and i didnt want to be fined. they said dont worry about it they were about to scrap it anyway. then i rolled it at about 85MPH doin some wannabe prerunning, i wish i still had pictures. then i bumped into a lady in Vegas who was acting like a hemorrhoid and gettin all up on my butt. (no damage to either vehicle.) oh, and the DMV doesnt know i rolled... so SHHHHH.....
6: it will still offroad no problem. last time i went offroading a tree stole my left cornering light. the speedo doesnt work because i tried changing the mileage to the correct miles by drilling and the cable broke.

Although most of this is in my sig, here it goes

1. 290,298 miles
2. 22re
3. 91 PU, standard cab, short bed, 5 speed, 4x4, Fed emission
4. Original motor, trans, t-case, diffs, EVERYTHING!
5. I got into one finder bender that put a small ding on the front bumper when someone pulled out in front of me, but that's it, and I didn't even bother to report that one because it was so minor...
6. I bought it for 3k at 279k miles from the original owner the bought the truck brand new. She had work done on it about 2 thousand miles before she put it on the market and I bought it; timing chain and basic tuneup according to the paperwork she gave me. When I got it, both the water pump and radiator leaked, so I replaced those along with all the hoses and belts. Not too long after that the exhaust manifold developed a crack, so I replaced her with a new one; now I can't seem to get a set of O'rings to seal on the bottom of it... At about 287k miles I tore the intake manifold apart and cleaned the notorious "black goo" out, and the truck has run outstanding since then. Have had to do other things that come with high mileage; rear wheel bearings and seals, front wheel bearings and seals, and of coarse the general stuff that comes with taking it off road; rebuilding the hubs, replacing all the brakes and hardware, and then of coarse the basic tune-up stuff like plugs, wires, cap and rotor, that PITA PCV valve on the 22re's... Under the hood, the only real thing that stands out as not stock is the custom intake I made after the original one developed a cut in the rubber, but if you look close enough, you'll see the wire leading back to the second battery (she get's her cranking power from 2 red-top Optimas )

Think about it, we are looking for the HIGHEST mileage, so if the guy before you had 237K, and you have 154K, you just look like you don't quite understand the concept. For the sake of your own dignity, don't post!

2. 22re w/AT (both original including HG except for the section that fit over timing chain cover)
3. '89 4x4 ext cab
4. ...after unknowingly running the rear diff dry, I replaced the races and bearings.
5. I hit deer when truck was still fairly new
6. I'm still running the original shocks (probably not so "cool") and also just added helper springs to 'beef-up' the rear end (also probably not so "cool')

I'm not very quick on a keyboard so I apologize if this post follows someone having a higher odometer reading.

what does it matter?
oh wait... that means that things are unfair and some people have engines that last longer than others, and Obama wants everyone to be equal... so they'll take miles from the older engines and redistribute the miles to the younger engines.

I've just been pallin' 'round with engineers lately. It is fascinating that an engine with about 350K on it has likely consumed over 20 000 gallons of fuel and done over a BILLION revolutions (that's like... an eighth of the number of people worldwide think the Democrats will do a better job than the McMoose Burger party).

Don't be a spoil sport just because you can't play in the mileage game.

I like abecedarians idea of mile redistribution. I'm trying to sell a VW Eurovan with 150K and that seems high for a VW. Maybe I could borrow some of those miles and put them on my truck. Or give them to abe so he didn't have to be left out of the fun on the mileage thread

Can anyone beat 358 000 miles?
