Wheel bearing shot?
My 88 4Runner has been pulling to the left a lot lately. I thought it might be a stuck caliper because the wheel didn't spin freely when I jacked it up. I pulled the pads off and the wheel still wouldn't spin freely. What do you guys think?

I have to put a lot of force in to turn it. I'm assuming that's why everything gets somewhat hot once in a while and the truck pulls to the left.

I assume that your 4Runner has similar hub/bearing design as the 2nd gen 4Runners? If so, your preload might just be set too high. Have you had any work done to it lately that would have required taking the hub apart?
Just take it apart (clean and re-pack the bearings while it's apart), inspect the bearings, and put it back together, making sure to properly set the bearing preload.
