Whats this switch do.

I have a 1990 pickup manual trans. It has a 3vze. Next to the clutch cancel start switch (or what ever the the tech name) is another switch and that is what I am trying to identify. If I need a pic let me know but figure alot of the gurus will know what it is.

could use a pic. I used to have a '91 4x4 longbed with the same engine and tranny, and don't remember a switch next to the clutch start/cancel switch. I'm thinking a previous owner might have installed a switch in that plate/place. Do you have after market driving or fog lights, maybe?

It is used to close an electrical circuit either sending voltage to an electrical component or in some cases it is used to ground the component either way closing the circuit allowing the component to operate.

In short yes we need a pic.

But way to ruin the fun!!! just kidding

Follow the wires see where they go but I agree it was factory with a blank plate, if it has no function leave it there or take it out you can get a plate from the dealer or the junkyard, should have a like plate under your hazard button on the dash.

Wink

I don't believe a switch is even there...and as with all things..
PICS OR DIDN'T HAPPEN! They usually help a little to identify things..

My 90 SR5 Pickup has a factory rocker switch next to the clutch cancel. The switch is for the factory fog light option.
