What is this and what does it do?

i've spent the afternoon searching the net and google images and found nothing.
ive searched the entire shop manual (pdf) and found nothing

i want to put oba on my 95 4runner and need this gone to do so...

so what is it and can i remove it?

are those brake lines at the top? what does that bigger rubber hose go to?

there is a line that goes from p/s pump directly to it, 1 hose and 2 other lines are power steering . then 2 brake lines out the back.....

i cant believe the lack of info on this part.

dam!
dude thanks now i have an idea of what to do with it.

i dont have abs i changed the rear axle to an eariler model one last year when i did the sas. ok now i know. thanks again

If you're up to it you can remove it. There's a write-up somewhere on it. Type it in on google. Be aware that it disables your ABS which most people say doesn't make a whole lot of difference on these brake systems but I don't know first hand.
