What Pistons To Go With
Well I got a donor block but it had hydrolocked and bent a connecting rod. Going to order new rods from 22re performance but was wondering what pistons to go with. Does anybody know what brand pistons they use? Or any info on good pistons.

I've yet to build a 22RE, but i've always been impressed with the quality of the Japanese made NPR (Nippon Piston Ring) pistons and rings on other builds I have done. Prices are reasonable too.
NPR parts were OEM on many Japanese engines.
There are, no doubt some 'super pistons' made for high performance apps, but I know nothing of these.

Any recommendation of where to get the NPR pistons? And do they make any that are stock height?
Found one place. http://www.perfectengine.com/Toyota_...npr-10-239.htm

Think they're all stock height / comp ratio.
But are available in oversize diameters.
Be sure to shop for best price.

Well I needed new connecting rods so I am just going to go with 22re performance. Just go ahead and get them all in one spot and have them put together there. Thank you for the replies. Had the block cleaned and fluxed and it came out ok but have to bore it .20.
