What parts (gaskets and such) do i need to do a headgasket job? Other than the obvious head gasket and head bolts?

X's 2, but minus the head bolts; most head gasket sets do not include them and will have to be bought separately

yep, completely depends on where you buy them from and the brand, but read any info about the set very carefully before you buy it as most specificaly list what is and isn't included

gaskets/seals to be replaced with a head gasket:

head gasket
intake manifold to head
egr to head
valve cover, semi-circular plugs and grommets
exhaust manifold to head
PAIR manifold to exhaust manifold
PCV valve

probably more, but I'm mentally challenged at the moment.

And, since you don't want to take any chances, you'll take the head to a machine shop and have it checked, including the valves, seals, etc., correct ?
