What idler arm is this?
My idler arm doesn't look like any I've seen in pictures around here. Is it just a newer design, or some sort of aftermarket one? I wanted to replace the bushings, but I don't think the ones I ordered from the dealership will fit.

Its an aftermarket possibly made by Moog. They make good stuff by all accounts.
Here's the Moog:
OEM bushing will not fit. I have no idea whether the idler arm is rebuild-able, but I kind of doubt it.

that's the same mine has on it right now; that's how I found out a while back that the truck did infact have some suspention parts replaced...
of caurse the previous owner neglected to change the shocks with the 274k miles it had on them when I got the truck, but at least I see they tried to keep it mantained
It's about to get replaced with an OEM arm, as well as a brace on it!

Yep, aftermarket idler arm.
You can't replace the bushings on those (I don't think).
Pick up a used oem one, you can get them cheap. Then get the bushings (or buy the brass ones) from the stealer and rebuild it.

I wonder if Downey thought I had that style idler arm when I called them up to order an idler arm brace, they told me their brace ONLY fits OEM idler arms, I said well mine sure looks like the OEM (its not, its my 4th aftermarket one lol) but mine is of the same design as OEM...
maybe ill call them back up.. then again, im not to concerned with mine being bent anymore.
