what did you pay for machine work?
I'm trying to price the cost of the work needed to get my 3vze engine up and running. I understand the spectrum of work variance motor to motor, but I plan on buying an engine kit from engnbldr. After finding a machine shop, that way they can tell me exactly what my motor needs. So I'm curious what you guys have paid for things such as boring, rebuilting heads, decking the block, decking the heads, cutting the crank, and possibly what it cost to get the motor with just the crank installed and end play set.
I know this is a heluva set of questions, but I'm just looking to see what it cost to get your motor back up and running, provided you did most the work such as I plan. I can locally buy a rebuilt motor from attarco for 1250 with a 6 month warrantee or 1580 for a 1 year warantee.
My motor runs great, but knocks, I already pulled it and it is mostly bare, I will pull the heads and rods today to see if it is a bearing or pin.
Thanks for sticking through this if you have made it this far! If it weren't for California smog laws I'd do the swap.
