What is this air intake hose?

Funny you should mention that. I was just talking about it. PCV valve hose. That's not the factory pre-bent hose, so it's been replaced obviously.
Whining? You mean hissing? Is it leaking you suppose?

No, its not leaking and seems to be holding pressure or feels like it is supported inside the hose. Now I know why it makes a clicking sound when I squeeze it. The whining noise is low pitch. Not like a squealing drive belt nor hissing. Much lower tone like a moan. Made me think at first it was the water pump but turned out to be this hose or something along its line.

There shouldn't be anything inside the hose, or positive pressure for that matter. I'd start by removing it and finding out what that is. BTW it should have some sort of spring type hose clamp on it at both ends too. I notice the one end that I can see is missing the clamp. You can get those at a hardware or auto parts joint, but I replaced mine with small adjustable clamps.

Ok, I'll check. Seems like the hose is a POS aftermarket thing. It is probably the hose that is making the noise but I'll post something when I find out for sure. Thanks for the quick responses.
