Vacuum line help.

I am trying to figure out where the vacuum line goes from the round vacuum reservoir on the drivers side, it snakes around the firewall to the passenger side of the engine. None of the pictures or diagrams seem to shed light on this.

Pete1122 -

You really have to give the details in every post. The plumbing for the 22re and 3VZE are different. And the picture you supplied is not a stock Toyota Evap Canister (so far as I know).

For the 3VZE, the suction port from the canister goes to the Thermal Vacuum Valve (TVV) on the water bypass. http://personal.utulsa.edu/~nathan-b...76evaporat.pdf

What "pictures or diagrams" were you looking at?

Sorry for the lack of detail, I have a 1989 3.0. I added the picture just to show what the reservoir looks like, I am not talking about the evap canister. This reservoir is on the drivers side of the firewall and has a vac hose that runs across the firewall to the passenger side.

Looks like an aftermarket vacuum reservoir that is sometimes used with vacuum servo type cruise controls to give a little back-up vacuum when used on smaller engines where you've got your foot in it more often, and manifold vacuum is low.

Similar ones are sometimes seen on cars that use many vacuum servos to operate air doors in their climate control schemes.

Don't think it is a factory installation.

Millball- thanks, you nailed it. It looks like it was for the old cruise control that was put in the truck. I replaced it with a newer unit and always assumed that was stock.
