Can i let the timing chain down or will it fall of the crank sprocket? I remember seeing the grove in the timing cover and when its on i dont think there is enough room for it to drop of the sprocket. I am doing this along so I need some input fast!

ive seen many t-covers missing that piece. if its there it shouldn't fall off.

i hook a bungee cord threw the cam gear and then hook it too a support hole on the inside of the hood. then lift the head up and have a buddy hold the cam gear up while he unhooks the bungee and reroutes it. make sense?

maybe try and zip tie the chain tight/ together under the cam gear. im not sure if that can be done with the head on though.

have your neighbor come help, anyone can hold the bungee lol.

there should be a piece on the timing cover to hold the chain on the crank gear. just wire the timing chain and cam gear together to help keep it in time.
