Underbody Tire carrier

anyone got pics? Specifically of the linkages that lead to the lower/raise mechanism, I cannot for the life of me figure out how this thing would go under there.

I don't know what vehicle you have, but I'm guessing it's not what I have. Mine is so simple that their is only one way it can go, and it doesn't have any linkages. I've never seen one with a linkage, on any vehicle. The only kind I've ever seen is the type that you use the special tool(s)/rod to slip in there and turn it up or down.

For what it's worth, here is a picture of mine. The first picture is from behind, facing the front of the truck. The second pictures is from the front, facing the back of the truck.

Hey man, thanks for the pics. I have a 2nd gen 4runner, I snagged one from a runner at the junkyard, It definitely looks different than that.

Yeah, that's a lot different. Have you downloaded a manual for your runner yet? That might have a diagram to show how it goes.

I don't even use mine because it robs the little rear clearance I have and besides, my spare won't fit there because it rubs on the exhaust lol

IIRC, the one u have is for the trucks that came w/ the 31's stock. I'll look in my manual to confirm.
I have to stick the crank in @ about a 45deg angle toward the drivers side to engage the winch. I'll be out of town all nest week so I can't post pix, truck's a
@ home.

I have a 91 which originally came with the swing away tire carrier. I'd like to carry double spares so I hit the junkyard an grabbed all of the guts from another 4runner but there is NO WAY it was the right one, it had all kinds of gearing and there was no obvious way to route the shaft.

yaya's pic is just too up close, I need to see the whole view of how it routes

The 31" is fine, I do have ATs in 31 that I keep on it 98% of the time, the swing out can carry the play tires. Pics?
